Tax Return Information Checklist Guide for Business

To assist us in the preparation of your Tax Return could you please provide the following information.

  1. Details of any changes in residential/postal/business/email addresses, occupation, phone or fax numbers
  2. Business Bank Account Statements covering the period to end of financial year
  3. Details of Business Activity Statements (BAS) / Instalment Activity Statements (IAS) lodged personally during the year
  4. Details of Stock on Hand as at end of financial year, if you are a retail business
  5. List of Creditors (amounts owed to suppliers) as at end of financial year
  6. List of Debtors (amounts owed to you) as at end of financial year
  7. Details of New Loans or Leases
  8. Details of any Business Related Expenses
  9. Details of Plant or Equipment Purchases, Trade-ins or Sales.  Please provide a copy of any sale documentation or original supplier invoices
  10. Details from statements for Sale of Buildings and Property
  11. PAYG Withholding and Return To Work Reconciliations if you have employees and lodged personally during the year
  12. Payment Summaries (formerly Group Certificates), including superannuation and termination of employment details
  13. Details of any other earnings, eg. Allowances, commissions, sickness and accident insurance policy payments and superannuation pensions
  14. Centrelink Statements
  15. Details of New Start Allowance, Sickness Allowance, Exceptional Circumstances Relief payments, Austudy or other education allowances
  16. Details of Aged Pension or other benefit and allowances received from the Australian Government
  17. Details of exempt pensions received
  18. Bank Interest Received in the financial year
  19. Details of ALL bank accounts – Amount/Bank/Branch/Account Number and the name/s in which the accounts are held in
  20. Details of any tax deducted from gross interest earned
  21. Details of bank charges on interest-bearing accounts
  22. Investment Trust Distribution, please provide copies of Annual Tax Statement detailing the taxable components of distributions received from each fund
  1. Dividend Received
  2. Please provide all dividend notices supplied by companies
  3. Additionally, if you have participated in any dividend reinvestment schemes or received bonus shares, please provide full details of same
  4. Details of any tax deducted from gross dividends earned
  5. Rental Property details, see separate checklist
  6. Private Health Insurance Statement provided by fund
  7. Spouse Details – Tax File Number, Date of Birth and Income details
  8. Please refer to Individual Checklist for more Income and Expense documents relating to you personally
